We've Got The County Covered
With their summer programming gearing up, Montana Actors' Theatre (MAT) is looking for youth ages 11-21 to audition for the 2022 Youth Production, Happily Ever Before. Auditions will take place on June 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the MAT Theatre on the Montana State University-Northern campus. No experience is necessary.
With planned performance dates for July 28-30 and August 4-6, the Youth Production provides an opportunity for young people to participate in a fully-staged presentation. Participants learn every aspect of theatrical production and develop the discipline to create a polished, professional show.
In the script written by Tracy Wells, the fairytale villains have had enough!
For too long, the Evil Queen, Wicked Stepmother, and Dark Fairy have been pushed into the shadows while princesses such as Snow White, Cinderella, and Briar Rose get their happily-ever-afters. Given their vindictive and vengeful ways, the scoundrels set out to change things.
With the help of the sinister Rumpelstiltskin, the mischief-makers use their magic to travel back in time, planning to alter the destinies of each of their princesses and to send them down a path that doesn't end so happily. But as the villains set their plan in motion, a classic cast of fairytale extras-including the Big Bad Wolf, Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks, and Robin Hood-unwittingly transform the princesses' stories and the course of the villains' plans.
Happily Every Before is billed as a festive fractured fairy tale with a large, flexible cast of familiar characters, providing ample opportunity for all actors to shine.
