Long time Beaver Creek resident Caide LongKnife, 45, passed away May 15, 2022.
Wake service will be held at Chief Nosey Recreation Center of Lodgepole, MT at 6:00 pm Saturday. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday. Burial will take place at the LongKnife Ranch.
Mr. LongKnife was born October 30, 1976 in Fort Belknap Hospital, to Ruth and Leroy LongKnife. He grew up alongside the Little Rockies at his family ranch in Beaver Creek. He graduated from Chemawa Indian School, Salish Kootenai College and he attended Aaniih Nakoda College.
He was a jack of all trades, he could do just about anything. He's done forestry, worked at a sawmill, Job Corps, Carpentry, maintenance, and CNA work at Havre Hospital. He resided most of his life at Beaver Creek and oftenly visited his fiancé Marg in Alaska.
He loved making art projects, hunting, fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. In the Arctic Village of Alaska, he did what he enjoyed most, hunted caribou and moose. He made a lot of good friends that shared the same interests. His presence was always enjoyable and he loved to make people laugh. He also loved spending time with his children, nieces, and nephews and teaching them new skills.
He is survived by his mother Ruth LongKnife, his fiancé Margorie Gemmil, his 3 brothers, Dion LongKnife, Leroy Jr. LongKnife, Wilburn LongKnife, his sister, Leanna LongKnife, Rosie LongKnife-Main, his nephews, Neiko Scott LongKnife-Perry, Flint LongKnife, Corin LongKnife, Adrian Main, Chase Main, Tom Main, Harry Main and Bill Main, his nieces, Sapphire LongKnife, Arraya LongKnife, Shayla Main, Lena Main, and Sammy Main, his 3 sons and 3 daughters, Colven LongKnife, Caidence LongKnife, Cehleesia (CeCe) LongKnife, Troy LongKnife, Roman LongKnife, Grace Capcha, two grandchildren, Elyra LongKnife, and Cason Cooper. Mr. LongKnife is preceded in death by his dad, Leroy LongKnife Sr., his sister, Diane Main, and his niece, Renea LongKnife-Durham.
