We've Got The County Covered
You know, Lord, sometimes our thinking gets mixed up, we think the quality of our life is based on what happens to us, but that isn’t so - we’re forgetting that the quality of our life is how we respond. We probably know someone-including ourselves who’ve become bitter instead of becoming better, when tragedy befalls us.
No matter what, we need to remember that You, Lord, have secured our victory. We’re to take hold of that truth, internalizing Your gospel gift and live it out amid our broken world. In other words, we are to make our faith our own, and in so doing, live up to what we have already attained.
Do we look with gratitude at the blessings we still have, or do we become fixated on what could have – or should have. Lord, when we struggle with dark thoughts, help us to remember that You work for the good in all things.
We remember the gentleman who’d had a bad day; nothing was working out like it should, so, during his lunch break, he took a walk to the nearby park, head down, not knowing what to do, or how to think. He saw kids from a nearby school having fun. He was surprised when one young lad came running up to him, handed him a folded piece of paper and said, “This is just for you, sir.” The lad turned and dashed off as the group of kids raced back into the schoolhouse.
He carefully opened the folded paper, it read, “Remember, GOD LOVES YOU!” The little boy was gone but the gentleman smiled, praised God, turned back to his office, shared that special note with his team of workers. He had a better day.
Let’s remember to read Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
