We have one non-fiction book and one romance available this week. “All the Living and the Dead: From Embalmers to Executioners, an Exploration of the People Who Have Made Death their Life’s Work” by Hayley Campbell is a deeply compelling examination of the death industry and the people-morticians, detectives, crime scene cleaners, embalmers, executioners - who work in it and what led them there. “Remember Love” by Mary Balogh, beloved queen of Regency romance, is back with a brand-new story perfect for fans of Bridgerton.

If you are looking for a thriller or suspense, we have several ready for checkout. “Cold, Cold Bones” by Kathy Reichs features forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan who, after receiving a box containing a human eyeball, uncovers a series of gruesome killings eerily reenacting the most shocking of her prior cases. “Girl, Forgotten” by Karin Slaughter is an electrifying thriller featuring newly minted US Marshal Andrea Oliver as she investigates a cold case with links to her father’s past. A woman hires a housekeeper to care for her aging parents—only to watch as she takes over their lives in “The Housekeeper” by Joy Fielding. In “Hokuloa Road” by Elizabth Hand, a young man is drawn into the dark side of paradise in a mystery about the eerie secrets of one Hawai’ian Island—a place where people have long vanished without a trace.
