Billmayer Family Announces Winner of the 2022 Mental Health Scholarship in Honor of Tristan

The family of Tristan Billmayer is pleased to announce the winner of the 2022 Mental Health Field Scholarship in the amount of $500.

Samantha May, a 2020 graduate of CJI High School is the daughter of Brian and Jeri May. Samantha is currently a student at the University of Montana and is working to obtain her bachelor's degree in psychology, in order to later attend graduate school for school counseling. Growing up in a rural community, Samantha knows the importance of having someone to support students, especially when in many areas, the school counselor is the only mental health professional. In Missoula, she loves cheering on the Griz at football games and partakes in as many intramural sports as possible. She also works with TrioSSS, a program that provides support services to low-income, first generation, and students with disabilities. This semester she will mentor other students through TrioSSS, by guiding them through the constant challenges that college brings.

The Tristan Billmayer Memorial Mental Health Field Scholarship in the amount of $500 is offered to any graduate from Blaine County and/or 9C School District who has plans of or is in the process of pursuing a degree in a field that pertains to mental health, such as counseling, psychology, social work, etc. For more information and to apply for the 2023 Scholarship, please contact Shawna Billmayer at slbillmayer74@gmail.com or contact your school counselor.

Congratulations to Samantha May, the 2022 winner of the Tristan Billmayer Memorial Mental Health Field Scholarship. Thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of others.
