We've Got The County Covered
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Pumpkin Patch over the weekend. We appreciate the support and generosity of the community. We had over 600 people come out and choose pumpkins. Livia Turner and Paisley MacLeod were the winners of the drawings. A huge shout out to Kenny Finley for generously donating the money raised from his Pumkin Patch to the library again this year. All funds will be used to support and enhance our children’s programs. We have Hangout for grades 7 & 8 on Mondays at 3:30, Hangout for grades 5 & 6 on Tuesdays at 3:30, Traditional Story Time for ages birth to 5, Tuesday mornings at 10:30, Teen Scene every other Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., LEGO/STEAM Club Thursdays at 3:30 and Early Out Movies on Fridays at 2:15.
We have two non-fiction books ready to go this week. “You Should Smile More: How to Dismantle Gender Bias in the Workplace” empowers women and men to unlock a culture of greatness in the workforce—one little thing at a time. Written by six C-suite women with a collective resume covering 29 industries, the book offers a completely new lens through which to talk about and tackle the stubborn remnants of gender bias at work. “Dinners with Ruth: A Memoir on the Power of Friendship” by Nina Totenberg is an extraordinary memoir of her personal successes, struggles, and life-affirming relationships, including her beautiful friendship of nearly fifty years with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
New fiction includes “Dreamland” by Nicholas Sparks, a poignant love story about risking everything for a dream- and whether it’s possible to leave the past behind. “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney is a locked-room mystery when a family reunion leads to murder in a delightfully twisty and atmospheric thriller. “Beneath the Bending Skies” by Jane Kirkpatrick is a sweeping story of hospitality, destiny, and the bonds of family. “Hell and Back” by Craig Johnson is a Walt Longmire mystery.
