Thunderbird senior Davontae Sullivan scores Saturday against C/J-I.
The Hays/LodgePole Thunderbirds began the new year on the road against the Fort Benton Longhorns. The Longhorns jumped out to a 24-6 lead after eight minutes of action. The Longhorn lead swelled to 42-17 by halftime.
The Thunderbirds played well to start the second half, staying with Fort Benton through the quarter. Down the stretch the Longhorns took control and picked up a 75-32 win over the Thunderbirds. Junior William Hughes Jr. tallied six points in the contest for the Thunderbirds while senior Kaleb Walker and freshman Russell Plainfeather each added five.
