We've Got The County Covered
April is Pets Are Wonderful Month! Elle put together a book display of fiction and non-fiction books about pets. Since Librarians need pets too, we have photos of some of our pets, most of whom were strays or adopted from a shelter. April 30th is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. As part of our pet display, we are featuring photos of pets available from our local shelter PAWS. April is also Arab-American Heritage Month. We have a display of both non-fiction and fiction books available for checkout.
We have one non-fiction book available for checkout. Eat to Beat Your Diet by William Li, MD is a guide to help burn fat, heal your metabolism, and live longer.
New movies this week are Father Stu and Backroads of Montana Fort Peck to Ovando. Based on a true story, Father Stu is an unflinchingly honest, funny, and uplifting story about finding purpose in a most unexpected place. After surviving a terrible motorcycle accident, Stuart Long, of Helena, MT, wonders if he can use his second chance to help others find their way — and leads this former amateur boxer to the surprising realization that he is meant to be a priest. In Backroads of Montana episode 49 you will watch a special team volunteer their labor to keep Monture Guard station near Ovando in working condition, learn about gumbo- a volcanic clay that covers everything it touches and makes getting around a sticky mess! You will also travel to the St. Mary of Assumption church that has served farmers and miners in the Ruby Valley for over a century. Then you will meet an energetic rancher, in her 90’s, who is still working the land near Fort Peck. Backroads of Montana is funded by grants from the Greater Montana Foundation, Travel Montana, and the University of Montana.
