We've Got The County Covered
The Chinook community hosted the Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, May 9th. We had 48 donors presenting with 42 productive units on a goal of 46. Great job everyone.
We had 3 first time donors: Oliver Standiford, Eleesha Bell and Tess Langford. We also had one donor registering for the first time in a long while, Michelle Sather. We hope this was the first of many donations for all of you.
The canteen was hosted by the United Methodist Church. Rita Surber and Cherie Edwards spent the day keeping the plates full. The hard work and time that goes into all the homemade sandwiches, snacks and sweet treats is always appreciated and enjoyed by all.
To all those volunteering their time and energy to help get and keep the drive running smoothly, please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated: Deb Ramberg for providing the site for the drive at the Chinook community commercial building. Linda Thompson, Judy Johnson, Deb Ramberg, Fay Friede and Bree Swanson for preparing the site for the Red Cross. Judy Johnson and Deb Ramberg for greeting and registering all the donors on the day of the drive. Paulette Keller from the North Central Montana Cattlewomen for delivering the beef certificates. Chrissy Downs and JUMP for cleanup.
The following Chinook High School students volunteered to assist at the blood drive: Belle Elliot, Hannah Schoen, Oliver Standiford, Bree Swanson and Dentin Depriest. They will each receive credit towards one blood donation and we welcome them back to volunteer in the future.
Door Prizes were provided by the North Central Montana Cattlewomen and the Methodist Church. Taking home door prices were: Carla Jenewein, Kasie McIntosh, Cameron Huestis, Ryley Hofeldt, Tess Langford, Sandee Leo and Eleesha Bell.
To each and every one of you, your willingness to donate and to participate in one way or another is greatly appreciated. It couldn’t be done without you. If I have forgotten someone, I sincerely apologize and please, don’t hesitate to let me know.
The next blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Commercial Building. It is now open for scheduling. If you are already scheduled, that is wonderful. Otherwise, to schedule an appointment you can go to 1(800)REDCROSS, http://www.redcrossblood.org or log in to your account.
