We've Got The County Covered
Our Summer Reading Program is winding down. Kids will have until 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 4th to turn in their time logs. Prizes will be drawn before closing that day and the lucky winners will be called. The student with the most hours read will win an after-hours pizza party at the library for him/herself and up to 5 friends.
Don’t forget about the prize drawing for High School students and adults! Every chapter book read by students and adults allows them to enter their name into the drawing for a book bag, thermal mug, and gift certificates to Rad’s and the Creamery. We will draw one adult and one high school student from the box Friday.
A few programs will continue into August. Story Time will continue through August. We will do Beat the Heat Movies on Wednesday August 2nd, 9th, and 16th. Teen Scene will be held August 9th and 23rd. All other programs will start again in September.
The Treasure State Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2021 by First Lady Susan Gianforte to ensure future First Spouses in Montana can promote the public good with their causes.
The Treasure State Foundation is partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which provides a free book each month to any child, ages 0 to 5 years old, who registers. The partnership is a statewide effort and will assist programs already in place while also expanding programs statewide to every zip code in all 56 counties in Montana.
We are pleased to announce that Blaine County Library is participating in the program. Children from 0-5 years old are eligible. Only a small portion of eligible children in Blaine County are currently receiving books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We have forms available in the library to register a child or you can register them on-line at http://www.imaginationlibrary.com/checkavailability. Once a child is registered, they will receive a free book in the mail in approximately 6-8 weeks.
