We've Got The County Covered

ChinookSeniorCenter

Hello from the Chinook Social Senior Center!

We had a wonderful crowd here, yesterday for our German meal/presentation. How nice to see every single table full of community members as well as people from out of town to enjoy our meal & the presentation prepared by the Hall family. Thank you to the Hall’s for their presentation of their knowledge of Germany!

We had a meal count larger than there has been in years! How exciting for us. Please call us the day before or even the week before so that we are certain to prepare enough for everyone who calls. We are currently still having “guest chefs” through Friday, August 18th, which has created some unforeseen menu changes. We have had some wonderful meals with this adventure. Thank you to all for your understanding while we have had these temporary changes.

Friday, August 4th was our appreciation meal in honor of Brad Taylor (Senior of the Year). Brad has been donating his time & guitar talents for years to our Chinook Social Senior Center. Thank you, Brad!!

Our Cornhole & Billiards leagues will soon be getting underway, as September is rapidly approaching. September will also bring back the Pinochle groups. If you play Pinochle, please call & let us know, so that we can get you signed up. For those of you who do not play Pinochle, Inez Halseth & I (Ginger Hansen) will be teaching a card game called Lambsy. It truly is fun (kind of like a progressive Rummy).

We will be having an Ice Cream Social soon & will keep you posted! There are so many fun things to squeeze in before our summer is gone!! Also, we will be having our Picnic in the Park (Girl Scout Park) Wednesday, August 23rd. Fried Chicken & all of the goodies will be served. We will still deliver our normal route on that date however, if you are able to join us in the park, please call ahead & let us know. We would love to have you along.

John & Donna Clay have been doing a wonderful job of “corralling” our book donations. Please tell them that they are appreciated when you see them.

Cribbage is played each Tuesday @ 1:00. Bingo is played each Thursday @ 1:00 & music is each Friday from 10:00-2:00.

Caramel rolls are made fresh each Thursday morning. They are $1.50 per roll or $15.00 per dozen. If you would like to order, please call & let us know by Wednesday at 10:00. They can be picked up after 7:00 a.m. on Thursdays.
