We've Got The County Covered

Save the Date for Blaine County Fur Fest

On August 23, the Blaine County Fair Foundation announced that it would be hosting the coyote hunt this year after the Chinook Volunteer Fire Department decided to give it up. Foundation members are calling the event the Blaine County Fur Fest Coyote Hunt, and they invite everyone to Save the Dates: December 1-3, in order to participate.

In the planning stages for the 2023 Blaine County Fur Fest, the group has been busy soliciting for sponsors. Over the past few weeks, the Foundation has thanked many of those businesses that have stepped up to make this event possible.

"We have received some awesome prizes that will be given out at the hunt as well as donations that will be added to the payout purse! Please support our sponsors who help make this event possible," said spokesperson Scott Skoyen.

Some of those sponsors include Rocky Mountain Truck Accessories, Oregon Mountain Rifle, Arken Optics, ICOtech, and Lilja Precision Rifle Barrels. Each has donated prizes that will be given away at the hunt. For instance, ICOtech has donated a package that includes a Night Stalker Programmable Predator Caller complete with a tripod and battery pack.

Blaine County Fair Board Member, Shandel Fouts designed a logo for the Fur Fest that will be used on signage and might also be printed on t-shirts. After Taylor Klein located a white silhouette with an armed hunter and his coyote kill, Fouts added an outline of Blaine County and the words: Blaine County Fur Fest 2023.

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring the Blaine County Fur Fest can make out a check to Blaine County Fair Foundation and mail it to PO Box 1207; Chinook, MT 59523. Sponsorships are tax deductible.
