We've Got The County Covered
Thank you to everyone who came out to Finley’s Pumpkin Patch last Saturday. We had almost 300 people who came to choose a pumpkin! 96 kids signed up for our drawing, and Jett Nordboe was the lucky winner. We really appreciate Jeff Finley and his family for carrying on the tradition Kenny was so passionate about. We would like to thank Jeff for asking the library to be part of this fun activity again this year. Thank you to everyone who donated to the library. It is great to live in such a supportive and generous community!
We have two new non-fiction books available this week. “The First Migrants” by Richard Edwards and Jacob Friefeld recounts the story of Black people who migrated from the South to the Great Plains between 1877 and 1920 in search of land and freedom. In “Democracy Awakening: Notes on the State of America” historian and author Heather Cox Richardson, gives us a vital narrative that explains how America, once a beacon of democracy, now teeters on the brink of autocracy -- and how we can turn back.
We have several fiction books ready this week. “23 1 /2 Lies” by James Patterson is a new Women’s Murder Club thriller. “The Last Devil to Die” by Richard Osman is a Thursday Murder Club mystery. “Code Red” by Kyle Mills is a Mitch Rapp novel. “Amazing Grace Adams” by Fran Littlewood is a Read with Jenna book club choice. “Canary Girls” by Jennifer Chiaverini is a novel about the “munitionettes” who built bombs in Britain’s arsenals during World War I, risking their lives for the war effort and discovering camaraderie and courage on the soccer pitch.
