The Harlem Library Board of Trustees will meet today, October 25, at 4:30 P.M. in the library meeting room for their regular meeting.

There will be no After School Squad today, October 25, and no Lego Club on October 26.

The Friends of the Library are currently holding their annual membership drive. If you are interested in becoming a member and supporting your local library please stop by the library to complete a membership form. Annual dues are $10 and may be paid at the library. If you have been a member in the past you may pay your renewal dues at this time.

The Book Challenge for October is to read a cozy mystery. You may win a gift certificate from a local business! November’s Book Challenge is to read a book about a different culture.

The program “Journey to Mongolia” with Steve Hughes, originally scheduled for October 13, is rescheduled for Friday, November 3, 7 P.M. in the library meeting room. Hughes will share about his recent visit with the nomads of western Mongolia. Included will be a slide show with time for questions and answers.

The Book Club, a book discussion group for adults, will begin a new book “The Woman in the Library” by Sulari Gentill. You may pick up your copy this week. The first discussion will be October 30, 4 P.M. in the meeting room.

Please remember the library has electronic devices to check out for patrons in good standing. We have mobile hotspots, iPads, and a laptop that may be checked out for fourteen days. Contact the library for more information.

A new feel-good novel by Jill Shalvis is “The Sweetheart List.”
