We've Got The County Covered
You know Lord, it seems like it’s best to do A GOOD DEED, right? Three gals were busy gabbing as they cleaned up a kitchen and dining room. ‘Gayle’ was busy chatting when several kids from the other room popped in. “We heard you talking about doing good deeds,” Jenny said. “We remember last year when Mrs. K. was our Sunday School teacher. If some of us were fussing, she’d say – ‘SHH. Do you not – ‘know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made’? Maybe made to do a good deed? That’s from Psalm 139:14,’ “she’d say. We were then quiet – thinking about THAT. But then she moved away – so maybe our new teacher will remind us.” The little girls giggled.
Not to be outdone, Lizzie asked, “Could somebody help me make a ‘Thank You’ card? Granny is visiting at our house right now; she LOVES making cookies; she said there should be a Cookie Day the first day of every single month – but it can’t be on Sunday. Granny loves doing good deeds and sharing cookies, she made a few to share with our neighbors. Granny’s favorite Bible Verse is Colossians 3:17: ‘And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him’, so, I need some help.”
Then quietly, Ginger spoke up: “I’ll help with a card. I need to make a card, too. My granny visits now and then; she’d really like to have a ‘Do Something Nice Day,’ ever month. She’s helping mommy with some hard work; I want to thank her for helping us out.”
The gals finished cleaning the kitchen, dining room, chatted how special it was that the 3 little girls had learned some Bible verses in Sunday School.
WE thank You, Lord, for helping ‘us’ learn to do good deeds and share.
Love, Mara
