We've Got The County Covered
Niagara Falls is a must see site for all ages, its three captivating waterfalls the Horseshoe, American, and Bridal Falls create the Niagara Falls and is the largest North American waterfall by volume and width. The 12,000 year old waterfall depends on Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie to supply the water that plunges over Niagara. Even though its glamorous aesthetic captures the attention of millions of people every year, it also has a useful purpose by creating hydroelectric power producing over 4 million Kilowatts which is then shared between the United States and Canada. This year Doug Hayes organized a trip to Niagara Falls and he and a group of others went to not only the falls but also Toronto, Billings Farm, Woodstock Vermont, Buffalo New York, as well as Lake George and Syracuse. Doug Hayes says that as a teacher he started taking Montana 8th grade students on trips to help them see more and learn more, and worked his way to taking high school students to Washington DC. After a few years he decided to start taking adults to Washington DC and after about 3 years people wanted to start going to different places. This year some of the biggest hits about this trip was Niagara Falls he says “Just the power of the falls was amazing” and “ I understand now when people say you have to see the falls from the Canadian side, you can see so much more of the falls” and says “it was amazing to be able to take a boat right up to the falls”. Some of their other favorite places that they visited was the Portland Observatory, and the Billings farm in Woodstock, Vermont. He is organizing another DC trip for March 14-21 and says that it’s booking up fast so if you’d like to go make sure to contact him as soon as possible.
