We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center!

We have had many fun things to do & join here this past week & we have many more to look forward to!! If you haven’t joined our Cornhole Class, or our Paint with Jack Brandon class, or our Pinochle Marathon, or our Cribbage group, or Bingo or the Billiards league, you are MISSING OUT!

You don’t have to be an expert at ANY. Just show up. It is FUN & FUN is very good! Let’s face it, this world has enough pain,……but not nearly enough FUN! GET IN HERE!! I have never painted, before these classes. I have never played Cornhole before. If I can laugh at myself & cheer for others, so can you! That is what community members do! They cheer one another on.

We have many, many upcoming fun things here. We will soon be hosting a FOUR C’s Day. That is a Cards, Coffee, Cookies & Cornhole! There will be fun for everyone! Be a part. Make a change. Make my day. GET IN HERE!

We will also soon be having a special day of tree lighting, to include Cardinals & Candles, only……in memory of those who have gone before us. I will provide the Candles & Cardinals. I will post in the paper, as well as on Facebook which date that will be. We will make this a very special lighting that will include Christmas Carols. GET IN HERE!

Teddy & Doug, the dynamic duo will be rustling up a pot of “Cowboy Stew” here, on Friday, Dec. 1st. That will be a treat, once more. These two are sooooo much fun! And, FUN is good.

I am working on another Poet & Picker’s date, to soon be announced.

I am excited as I am writing this, because our 2nd in a series of Speakers will be here at 5:30 today! If you missed this one, you shouldn’t have. FUN & CULTURAL experiences are not expected in a small community, however, people put forth much effort & energy to provide these to us. GET IN HERE!

We have HOT COFFEE, COLD ICE TEA, FELLOWSHIP, FRIENDSHIP & AN EMBRACING SPIRIT FOR OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS. GET IN HERE!

We all have so very much to be thankful for, as we enter this season of Thanksgiving. We need to love one another & lift one another up in prayer.

REMEMBER THE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER! MANY PEOPLE WORK VERY HARD FOR MANY WEEKS TO PREPARE THIS. There are sign up buckets all around town. Sign a slip, letting them know your requests, so that they can prepare accordingly.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! My wish is that you can spend time with loved ones, laugh much, love hard & be grateful. JOY, JOY, JOY .

Be blessed & be a blessing.
