We've Got The County Covered
The Foundation for Rural Service & Triangle Communications sponsors a trip to Washington, D.C. for up to two high school juniors each year. The deadline to apply is December 1. This year’s tour dates are June 3-7, 2024. Any 16-17 year old high school junior who is the dependent of a subscriber who receives landline telephone or broadband services from Triangle Communications is eligible to apply. Applications are available online from the Triangle Communications web page. Interested individuals can click on the Community Tab. From that drop-down menu, selecting Education Support will produce another menu where explorers will discover Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
In addition to requesting basic contact information, the online application asks four essay-style questions: 1) Explain your educational goals, 2) Explain your career goals, 3) How important is Broadband Internet access to you? What do you use it for? What speed do you need? Would you use it as a television service? 4) Please provide a brief explanation of why you would like to be chosen as Triangle’s representative on the Youth Tour.
Responses will be judged on grammar, punctuation, spelling, creative thinking, expression, and overall completeness.
