We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center!

Here we go on another adventurous week, here at our wonderful Center! As of this writing, we have all had our Thanksgivings & counted many blessings. We have shared with neighbors, families & friends. We have laughed, we have eaten too much & we still have leftovers.

I understand that our Community Thanksgiving Dinner, prepared lovingly, by those who spend the weeks & days ahead of time planning this, was very successful. I hope that you chose to dine in. That is what makes it special. Friendship & fellowship.

We have been richly blessed by the opportunity to live in this country and this community. We are still one nation under God! Very thankfully.

We are having our first, ever tree lighting ceremony, here on Friday, December 8th, at 2:00. I am providing Cardinals & Candles to place upon our trees. These will be dubbed “Memorial Trees” in memory of loved ones who have gone before us, ahead to the throne. I will also be preparing Christmas Cookies, & beverages, while we enjoy the talents of SHERRI MILLER, ON THE PIANO! This, once again, makes me feel very blessed. We have all lost people that we have loved. This will be a special time of reflection. Please know that you are welcome to come, even if you have been fortunate enough not to have experienced loss. We welcome all.

We will be hosting our 3rd 2023 Off Season Speaker Series, (partnering with Sam French, Director of the Blaine County Museum) on Wed. Dec. 13th @ 5:30! We will once again be preparing a Charcuterie Board and beverages to accompany the time & talents of Jack Mattingly, who will be presenting the history of the Methodist church in Montana & Blaine County, and its ties to famed Methodist circuit rider, Brother William Wesley Van Orsdel. PLEASE know that these people spend many hours planning for & preparing their materials for the special events, and we would like to acknowledge that with a full house!

I am also hosting a first ever, live auction on Sun., Dec. 10th at 2:00 at the Eagles Club in Chinook. This is a fundraiser to help with needed things within our Chinook Social Senior Center! I have reached out to many talented people within our community to please bring one item to place up for auction (Conducted by Kevin Elias, of course). People have been very generous & responsive to my plea. Please mark your calendars and come to the Chinook Eagles Club on Sunday, December 10th at 2:00 p.m. and show us your support, by bidding on these wonderful, generously donated items. Some of these items, might take care of your Christmas Shopping.
