We've Got The County Covered
Helena, Mont., November 30, 2023 – The Blaine County Community Foundation (BCCF) announces the issuance of $6,000 in grants, aimed at enhancing the well-being of Blaine County’s communities and residents. The Montana Community Foundation holds the fund on behalf of the BCCF and helps manage the disbursement of annual grants. Grants range from $500 to $2,000. With a population of 6,980 in Blaine County, these funds have a big impact for a small community.
“The communities in Blaine County are fortunate to have the annual grants from the Blaine County Community Foundation,” said Kasie McIntosh, fund representative from Blaine County Community Foundation. “These grants help support a number of projects in our area, ranging from new bleachers at the fairgrounds in Chinook to spay and neuter clinics in Turner.”
Grants are awarded to programs or projects benefiting Blaine County. Applications are reviewed by a committee of Blaine County residents. This year’s grantees include:
• $1,000 for Big Flat 4-H Club to host a spay and neuter clinic in Turner.
• $1,500 for Blaine County Fair Foundation to replace bleachers at the fairgrounds.
• $1,500 for Chinook Area Senior Center to remodel storage area to accommodate distribution food boxes and purchase seasonal decorations.
• $1,500 for Chinook United Methodist Church to purchase plastic chairs so Wallner Hall can continue to be used for community events.
• $500 for Sweet Memorial Nursing Home to purchase benches and a side table to welcome residents and visitors.
The Blaine County Community Foundation was established at MCF by Warren Ross in 1997. Financial support for this grant program also comes from the Ross 87 Ranch Endowment Fund, established by Warren Ross as well. Since 2017, the BCCF has contributed a total of $42,700 to 18 distinct nonprofits, encompassing the grants awarded this year as well. Their work contributes to building a stronger, more vibrant Blaine County.
