Chinook Continues to dominate, improving record to 13-0

Back on the court again this past Thursday, the Chinook Sugarbeeter girls basketball team welcomed the Choteau Bulldogs to town. With a strong start, senior Hallie Neibauer knocked down a triple and scored ten points while junior Alexus Seymour added six points on three baskets, sending the 'Beeters to the locker room with a solid 40-7 lead. At the start of the third quarter, the 'Beeters' offense stayed strong, scoring 14 points in the frame. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs tallied eight and trailed 54-14 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Beeters gained an additional nine points, securing their 63-26 victory over the Bulldogs. Hallie Neibauer led the way with 19 points, including two from downtown, while Seymour added 17 of her own and Hannah Schoen with ten points.

The next night brought the Conrad Cowgirls to the Factory, once again jumping out with an early lead in the first quarter with all 14 of the Beeters points coming from Neibauer, while the Cowgirls trailed behind with seven in the frame before heading into the second quarter. The Cowgirl offense managed to score just four free-throws in the second quarter while Seymour threw in a pair of threes and ten points with Neibauer adding nine to the scoreboard, taking a 37-11 lead at half-time. Coming into the third quarter, junior Addison Olsen scored eight points while Neibauer added another five, ending the third quarter with a 54-16 lead. The 'Beeters finished the game off with an additional ten points while the Cowgirls scored four for a 64-20 win. Neibauer led the way with a team-high 28 points. Seymour finished with 12 and Olsen added eight.

On Saturday, the girls faced off in Rocky Boy with the Rocky Boy Morning Stars. Neibauer started off hot from behind the arc with four triples and 19 points in the first quarter, powering the Beeters to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter. The 'Beeters defense also proved strong, limiting the Rocky Boy Stars offence to just seven points in the second quarter while the 'Beeters offense continued to rake in the points, with Seymour scoring nine points and sophomore Neva Lowe adding in five points of her own, including a triple, putting the 'Beeters up 43-17 at half-time. The third quarter saw the Beeters scoring by six different players including buckets from juniors Gracie Skoyen and Hannah Schoen with Seymour adding another eight points. This gave the Beeters a 59-27 lead at the end of the third quarter. With the time winding down, Olsen dropped a three to go along with points from Lowe, Sophomore Brooke Fetter, and Skoyen. In the end, the Beeters walked away with a 73-27 victory. Neibauer ended the night with 23, Seymour with 20 points and Schoen finished with ten.

On February 1st, the Beeters will take on the Fairfield Eagles in a home game before hitting the road on February 3rd to take on the Cut Bank Wolves.
