We've Got The County Covered
My mom, Betty Billmayer, has been a blessing to me my entire life. One day that stands out as an extra special blessing is the day she also became a blessing to my daughter Alia. A few days before my due date my mom traveled to Seattle to be here to support me after the new baby arrived. The evening she arrived I went into labor around midnight. My husband woke up my mom to let her know but as soon as she came into the bathroom to check up on me we realized we weren't going to be leaving the house for the hospital and instead my daughter was born about 10 minutes later. My husband was on the phone with paramedics while my mom delivered my baby girl. Alia didn't cry when she was first born and the minutes of silence were terrifying. My mom calmly rubbed on her chest stimulating her to start crying and proceeded to be the first to hold her and welcome her to the world. After the ambulance transported us to the hospital my mom and the doctor on call both signed the hospital birth certficate :) We continue to take yearly birthday pictures of my daugther in our bathroom to commemorate the memory of her birthplace!
