We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center

We continue along with all of the adventures that we can muster. We thoroughly enjoyed Tom Thackeray, yesterday, who drove up from Roundup to share his poetry, and stories of growing up with us. He is a delightful narrator. He also sold every single book (2 of which he has published) that he brought with him. A big Thank You to Debbie Davies, who originally told me about Tom and wanted to share that with us. I am always glad to present activities that people can choose to participate in, however, I am also very disappointed to work hard and not have people join us.

As we prepare to enter May, and we all get so busy planning our summer activities, please check into all of the wonderful things that we offer, right here at our Chinook Social Senior Center! We have a monthly activity list, as well as a monthly calendar, with plenty of information for you to join us for any number of things.

Wed., May 1st (after you make & hang your May-Day baskets), Doug Mitchell & Teddy Powell will be cooking Sweet & Sour Meatballs. Friday, May 3rd we will once again host another CARD PARTY from 2:00-5:00. Mon., May 7th we will enjoy a “Site Visit” from our area Director, Sue Bender at 11:00. It is always delightful to see her. On that same day @ 1:00, First Bank of MT, Chinook Division, will be presenting : SAFE BANKING for Seniors. Saturday, May 11th; FOR LADIES ONLY, BY RESERVATION ONLY, we will host a Mother’s Day Brunch from 10:00-12:00. We encourage you to call ahead, so that we know how many we are preparing for. We truly would like to know this prior to Tues., Tues., May 14th @ 1:00, Bob Quinn will be presenting information regarding his trip to Antarctica. Wed., May 15th @ 2:00, our Center will host the conclusion of the Pinochle Marathon Party! These people have played hard and it has been fun to observe some of these card parties. Friday, May 17th we will host another CARD PARTY from 2:00-5:00. Yes, the FUN continues! We believe that fun is good and that there is a serious shortage of FUN!

We work hard on great food, for an absurdly low cost to those of you who come and join us. Our desire is to serve you the best nutrition, while also having some yummy treats. We have been richly blessed to have Debbie Ramberg not only on the Board of Directors, but also, helping to fill in cooking for us, as we pray for a cook that understands our mission & vision statements.
