We've Got The County Covered
Avis Marie Boe, 65, of Fort Belknap, passed away on May 16, 2024 at her residence in Chinook, MT. She was born on September 12, 1959 in Fort Belknap to Stella Maine and Grant Boe Sr. She lived most of her life in Fort Belknap, MT, aside from her attendance to boarding school at Flandreau. Following her first marriage to Kenneth Dean Flying Cochran, she had four children. Dawn Michelle Cochran, Myrna M. Cochran, Toni Rae Cochran, and Kenneth P. Cochran. Avis was truly a wonderful soul with a heart of gold. She was always honest and straight forward. She was the most respectful and the kind to give up all that she had in order to help others. She was raised to be the amazing woman that she was on account of her step father William "Indian" Brisbo. Her personality was beautiful and one of a kind, to say the least. She held the most love and responsibility of taking care of her family, including three of her numerous grandchildren, Tristin Duane, Megan Tanner, and Amari Love. Avis was the "rock" of her family, she always had family gatherings at her home for every birthday, holidays and celebrations. Her passion for caring for people became an act of love, as it led to her becoming a licensed childcare provider. Though she was known to be a homemaker, her kindness and compassion matched her dedication to be a caregiver to children in need. She took pride in her home and always maintained a clean, organized touch to her place, including her love for houseplants that lined her ceiling from one end to the other. She was full of knowledge, as well as she was wise. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; teaching them many things such as making dry meat and her frybread that everyone loved. She was the best berry picker and had many values and always said that she was rich in life because she always had what she needed and because she had the people she loved most. Her hobbies included quilting, beading, cooking. She enjoyed the company and all that went along with it, never refusing to "crack some cold ones" as she would say. Her love for music came with dancing and laughing with those around her. She lived her life for her kids and grandkids; passing down her wisdom and stories that once were given to her. She was beautiful inside and out. She was fearless and independent, never allowing any challenge or obstacle to stand in her way. She was loved by many and is missed more than words could explain. Avis is preceded in death by her parents Stella Maine, Grant Boe Sr., step father William "Indian" Brisbo; first husband Kenneth D. Flying Cochran; children Dawn M. Cochran, Myrna M.
