We've Got The County Covered
It’s time to say thanks to members of the community for donations to the library. We send a shout out to: Kylie and Tyler Kropf, Donna and Pat Murdy, Sabrina Peck, Tanis Ross, Barb Ranstrom, Tidal Sharples, Valerie Houtzel, the Kalk family, Farideh Schmitdke, Rad’s Deli & Pizza, the Danley family, Wilma Mellville and Perry Alcorn, Tony Munari, Chuck Palm and Colleen Overcast. Whether you made a monetary donation or donated something else, we appreciate you! It is great to live in such a supportive community.
The theme for our Summer Reading Program this year is Adventure Begins at Your Library! Emily has some great programs and events scheduled.
For every 1 hour read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. On top of that, they will receive a stamp in their “Adventures Passport” book (kept here) for each completed reading slip they bring in and for each program they attend. At the end of our Summer Reading Program, completed passport pages will be entered to win a mystery prize! We encourage Pre-Readers to participate by having someone read to them. Older children can read to their younger siblings, and both can count the time read. Accelerated Reading tests are available at the library during the summer to help kids get a head start on AR points for the fall. Audiobooks do not count in our challenge. Children who join the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed!
There will be a Summer Reading Program every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. beginning May 29th and ending July 31st. Each program will last around 45- 60 minutes. There will be stories, games, crafts, presentations and treats each week. We ask any child 5 years old and younger be accompanied by an adult or caretaker over the age of 13 years old. We will also continue our Story Time on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:00 for those children 5 years old and under to attend. Summer Story Time is tailored to the needs and interests of a younger age group, and it is a great opportunity for younger children to get involved with our summer library activities. Each week we will read stories, sing songs, and have activities or crafts. Beat the Heat Movies will be on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 4:30. Hangout for ages twelve and up will be Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 and LEGO Club will be on Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00.
We look forward to spending time with you and your children this summer. Please contact us with any questions at (406) 357-3932, or email at blcolibes@gmail.com, or message us on Facebook.
Adults and young adults can participate in the Summer Reading Program and be eligible for a prize. For every book read adults and young adults(grade 9 and up) can enter their name into the drawing.
