The Harlem Library Board will hold its regular monthly meeting today, June 26, 4:30 P.M. in the library meeting room.

There is still time to take part in the summer reading program “Adventure Begins at Your Library!” Weekly programs include Summer STEAM for elementary students on Mondays at 1 P.M.; Storytime for children ages 0-5 and their parents/caregivers on Tuesdays at 10 A.M.; and Lego Club for all ages on Thursdays at 4 P.M.

Children are encouraged to bring in their reading logs with minutes read each week to the library to redeem their gift certificates. Teens and adults should notify the library when they complete a book to be entered to win a $50 gift card at the conclusion of summer reading.

The Book Challenge for June is to read an adventure book. When you complete the challenge be sure to let the library know and your name will be entered to win a gift certificate from a local business. July’s Book Challenge is to read a book set in an intriguing city.

The library will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Don’t miss “Friends & Fun!” held each Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. This is a time for adults to socialize, play games and enjoy snacks.

“The Widow Spy” by Megan Campisi is a new historical fiction novel based on the astonishing true story of the first female Pinkerton detective, whose next assignment could end the Civil War.

Jeneva Rose is the author of “Home is Where the Bodies Are.” Three estranged siblings reunite to sort our their mother’s estate. While going through their parents’ belongings they come upon a collection of home videos. They decide to revisit those happier times, but are shocked when one of the tapes shows their father covered with blood, and dead body, and a pact between their parents to get rid of it.

“Extinction” is written by Douglas Preston. The Erebus Resort in the Colorado Rockies gives guests the experience of viewing wooly mammoths, Irish elk, and ground sloths brought back from extinction through genetic manipulation. When a billionaire’s wife and son are kidnapped and murdered in the Erebus backcountry, Agent Frances Cash and sheriff James Colcord must track down the perpetrators.

Ann Hood has written “The Stolen Child.” Nick Burns has only months left to live. He enlists the help of college dropout, Jenny, to travel back to France to find a French artist who thrust her painting and her baby into his arms and disappeared during WWI.

Other new titles include mysteries “A Lonesome Place for Dying” by Nolan Chase and “A Murder Most French” by Colleen Cambridge.
