Hello From the Chinook Senior Center

It is with great sadness that we all say “Good-Bye” to Chrissy Downs, who was a true light in this community. Let’s tuck the best of her in our hearts and keep her memory alive. She is now at home, with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Well, the true July weather is upon us and with it we get a bit of everything that mother nature has to offer, the good, the bad and the ugly. Stay safe in the heat and be aware of drinking lots of fluids.

We know that the SCAMMING calls are on the rise, so please do NOT answer your telephone, if you do not know who it is. Also, do NOT answer an e-mail from someone that you do not know, stating that they need for you to call them. This is an absolute travesty that continues and continues. BE AWARE at all times. Do not give any information to anyone, but your family or your doctors and make absolutely certain that they are who they claim to be.

We have had more darned fun in here with the Powell sisters, Kenny Overcast, Sheri Miller, Patrick Campbell, Elaine Campbell and even a bit from Jack Brandon! We are blessed to know these people and to have them come and entertain us.

Remember, that we also have Gene Allen, Sherry Neuens and Lynn Heggen coming on Tuesday, July 23rd from 1:00-4:00 for more fantastic music! GET IN HERE! We are blessed, indeed.

Our July birthday party will be held on Friday, 26th! Please let us know well in advance if you will be joining us for the special lunch. Shrimp Stir Fry! We don’t want to miss you! We will once again, have the musical talents of the Powell sisters and Sheri Miller for the birthday party, as well.

Our semi-monthly card party will be held on the same day @ 2:00! Please call and let us know that you are coming! Thanks for understanding that we absolutely must know how many we are preparing our wonderful meals for well in advance!

We have Diamond Dotz art class again on Tues., July 30th from 1:00-3:00. Get in here and join us for this fun class and take home a beautiful piece of art that you can be proud of!
