If you have completed the July Book Challenge to read a book set in an intriguing city, please notify the library. The Book Challenge for August is to read a book with a person’s name in the title.

New titles are ready for checkout! “Shelterwood” is by Lisa Wingate. In this novel Wingate brings to readers the story of Oklahoma, 1909, when three children disappear in the remote Winding Stair Mountains, fleeing those who wish to exploit them. In 1990 Oklahoma, ranger Valerie Boren-Odell faces a local controversy over the opening of the Horsethief Trail National Park. A teenage hiker is missing and a long-hidden burial site of three children is unearthed in a cave.
Michael Crichton, celebrated author, passed away in 2008. His wife kept his notes for a project he had been pursuing for years, and passed them on to James Patterson. The result is the new novel “Eruption.” A history-making eruption is about to destroy the island of Hawai’i. The U.S. military has made a terrible mistake and life as we know it could be over.
“Listen for the Lie” is by Amy Tintera. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town. But after Lucy is found covered in Savvy’s blood everyone thinks she is a murderer. It has been years since that night, and Lucy now lives in LA, with not memory of what happened. Now a new crime podcast have decided to investigate Savvy’s murder.
