We've Got The County Covered

City of Chinook Has New Faces on Staff

You may have seen some new faces working for the City of Chinook recently. Rhiannon Dunkin, the New City Clerk and Josh Nordboe, City Shop Foreman were recently hired to fill vacancies in the city staff and are working hard to make Chinook a great place to live.

Rhiannon is a California transplant after marrying her husband Jared who is from White Sulphur Springs. After brief adventure in Texas, the two decided to move back to Montana. Their first choice was Bozeman, but decided that might not be the best choice. "We were looking for a place in Malta," Dunkin said, but fate brought them to Chinook and they have loved it here. Rhiannon has 4 children with another one on the way.

They have lived in Chinook since last October, and Rhiannon started work at City Hall in March. Jared works for Frontier Landscaping in Havre. Rhiannon's previous duties were mostly office work. Now she is keeping the City running smoothly.

Josh Nordboe, is single and is a 20 year native of Chinook, moving here from Nebraska. His most recent work was pipe fitting for the railroad and owned his own business, Nordboe Repair LLC, for a spell before accepting foreman duties.

"I see a lot of improvements I want to do around the city. All sorts of stuff," Nordboe said. He and the previous foreman talked over projects that needed to be done. One project is doing maintenance on the fire hydrants in town, making sure they are operating smoothly.

They have also been busy with maintenance on the pool and the parks in town.

He has also been cleaning out outdated equipment from the shop and are having shop equipment reduction sale. Much of this equipment will be replaced with newer and safer equipment. The inventory can be found at the City of Chinook Facebook page.
