Sharon Kaye (Granger) Peterson

Attica - Sharon Kaye (Granger) Peterson, 78, formerly of Chinook, Montana and had been residing in Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Sharon was born in Centralia, Illinois on March 3, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Forrest Earl and Rita Lucille (Fields) Granger. At the age of 10 Sharon and her family moved to Chinook, Montana where she graduated from Chinook High School. She lived there most of her life in Chinook until her husbands passing in 2011 and moved to be near family in Indiana. While living in Chinook, Sharon worked as a receptionist for the State of Montana, Blaine County Human Resources until her retirement.

Sharon had been attending the Williamsport Christian Church. She enjoyed collecting elephants and working word search puzzles. She enjoyed reading and walking. She helped with the Methodist Church Thrift Shop. She especially enjoyed the time spent with the grandchildren and following their activities.

On March 5, 1967, Sharon married Theodore "Ted" Ray Peterson in the Chinook Presbyterian Church in Chinook, MT. Ted preceded her in death on January 19, 2011.

Sharon leaves behind her two sons, William Todd (Tosha Marie Doornek) Peterson, Missoula, MT and Kevin Ray (Anne Marie) Peterson, Attica; four grandchildren, Nolan Erik Iverson, Eli Robert Iverson, Alivia Leaf Peterson and Elliott Leaf Peterson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Orland Kip Granger.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of Sharon's friends for their visits and acts of love and kindness shown to her in her final days at the nursing center.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the Williamsport Christian Church on Sunday, July 28th, from 3:00 p.m until the time of Sharon's Celebration of Life Services at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Jesse Stoner officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of one's choice.
