Hello From the Chinook Senior Center

We had a large crowd for Pinochle last Friday. It was great to see so many people that had called and signed up to join our fun (every other) Friday parties. I believe that everyone had a great time.

Our next Pinochle party will be on Friday, August 9th @ 2:00, and once again, we will be preparing Tallies and would like to have our count ready for our tables, so please do call us @ 357-2648 to sign up!

We are all seeing more people enjoy our Center and that is truly a great thing! Our flowers, like everyone elses are suffering a bit, but, we are holding out hope of enjoying them for another month or two!

We have scheduled some new activities for the month of August. Wed., August 14th @ 1:00, we will be enjoying a Paint on Canvas class. Friday, August 16th, we are beginning something new entitled “ A Chapter in Your Life” This will be a sharing experience, where people will write a 2 page summary of their lives (Childhood, Adulthood, Retirement and Bucket List). This will allow us to know a bit more about the many people who we spend time with each day. I do hope that you call and join this class. As always, it is good to know who all will be sharing, so that the time allotment is close to accurate.

We, of course, will still have our Diamond Dotz Art classes on Tues., Aug. 13th and again on Tues., Aug. 27th. Once again, we would like to know how many are joining in this activity, so please call!

We still have “Limber Up” each Mon. & Wed., at 10:00. We have Bingo each Thursday @ 1:00 and we will continue to have music each Friday, with Elaine Campbell, Roger, when available and whoever else can fit It in with what has always been known as the “Kitchen Band”.

We also have music by Gene Allen, Sheri Neuens and Lynn Heggen on Tues., Aug. 20th @ 11:00, for your enjoyment (they will stay and have lunch with us) and then entertain us for another hour. I am always grateful to the people who show up to offer us entertainment. Let’s all applaud their efforts of packing all of their equipment up and coming to share the talents that they have with us.

We have cold Ice Tea, hot Coffee, Cookies, a heart for our community, we have Bingo, limber up, Caramel rolls, Cribbage, Diamond Dotz art, painting classes, music and fun. Get in here! Be blessed and bless others.
