Havre Trails Announces Summerfest 2024

Havre Trails will be hosting their 6th Annual Summerfest in Pepin Park on August 24 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. All proceeds will support the maintenance of local trails and the improvement of area walking, running, and bike paths.

Formerly called Brewfest, Summerfest is a fundraiser for Havre Trails, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and improve recreational trails in and around Havre. This year’s Summerfest will feature drinks, food, and music. According to event organizers, dozens of Montana-sourced beverages, including beers, ciders, wines, and seltzers, will be served. Scheduled to convene in Pepin Park, located at 700 4th Street in Havre, stations will highlight Triple Dog Brewing, Gally’s Brewing, Cross Country Brewing, Wild Fig, White Raven Winery, Gusto Distributing, and Havre Distributors.

In addition to drinks, food will be available from Chachi’s Tacos, The Stack, and Dale Dogs. Furthermore, live music will be provided by vocalist and guitarist Corey Kopp, owner of Spruce and Steel Music. Located at 1033 Fifth Avenue in Havre, Kopp’s business is a musical instrument retail store and repair shop. Spruce and Steel Music not only carries guitars, amps, keys, drum and band instrument parts but sells various types of accessories as well.

Besides attending brewfest, Havre Trails personnel suggest that area residents can assist them by spreading the word about this important fundraising effort. Interested individuals are encouraged to share the event announcement as well as to invite friends, especially out of town visitors. Volunteering to assist at Summerfest is another option.

Summerfest volunteer shifts include Setup (10:00 - 11:30 a.m.), Shift 1 (1:15 - 4:30 p.m.), Shift 2 (4:00 - 7:00 p.m.), or Tear down (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.). Setup involves hauling and arranging tables and chairs, hanging banners, and erecting boundaries.

Shift workers will sell tickets, check identification and wristbands, serve drinks, or provide safe rides home through SafeRide.

Other volunteers are needed for public relations (PR) and event promotion to include photos and videos before and during Summerfest, as well as posting photos and videos on Facebook.

Anyone willing to volunteer can contact Lindsey Bennett, President of Havre Trails, by emailing lindsbrandt@gmail.com or by calling (406) 344-2991. Bennett also encourages people to visit the Havre Trails Facebook page or HavreAreaEvents.com for event updates.

Finally, Bennett wishes to thank key sponsors who make this event possible: Triple Dog Brewing, Milk River Wealth Management, Dancing Goat Gardens, Red Rock Power, Hi-Line Law, Todd & Laura Landstad, Red’s Auto-Electric, Jennifer Tilleman with Edward Jones, Triangle Communications, Chip Dahlstrom, Koefod Agency, Milk River Insurance, Independence Bank, Custom Collision Repair, Havre Distributing, Gusto Distributing, Havre Ford, Aquatana, and Sweet Valley Tees.

“Proceeds from prior events have allowed Havre Trails to create the Rotary Canyon Loop Trail north of Bear Paw Lake and the Brough’s Coulee loop off of the Bear Paw Nature Trail in Beaver Creek Park, as well as the Bullhook Butte Trail at Saddle Butte. Attendance at the brewfest helps Havre Trails to continue to bring exciting projects to the area,” Bennett said.
