Michael Lee Messerly

Michael Lee Messerly, passed peacefully on July 31, 2024 in Billings, MT. A funeral service were held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Chief Nosey Gym in LodgePole and a burial to follow at the Messerly Family Cemetery in Wolf Coulee.

Mike was born on April 5, 1945 to Glen "Hop" & Mary Leona "Clocky" Messerly in Fort Belknap, MT. He attended school in Brookside, LodgePole and Flandreau Indian School.

In his later years, he met Andrea "Maryann" LongFox. Of this union, they were blessed with two children, Louwanna & Donald. He was a cowboy ranch hand all his life until he could no longer ride. He broke many horses from the age of 5. He enjoyed attending the LodgePole Assembly of God, hunting, fishing, cutting wood in the mountains and spending time with family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Andrea "Maryann" Messerly. His parents: Glen "Hop" Jr. & Mary Leona "Clocky" Messerly. Paternal Grandparents: Glen Messerly, Sr & Nellie Kirkaldie-Messerly. Maternal Grandparents: Ira TalksDifferent & Olivia Healy. Sisters: Baby Girl Priscilla, Baby Girl Messerly, Diane "PeeWee" Healy, Marjorie "Snooks" Snell, Carol Jean Doney and Barbara Faye Ball. Brothers, Donald Lee Messerly & Robert Glen Messerly.

He is survived by his daughter, Louwanna LongFox-Flying & his son, Donald Lee Messerly. Grandchildren: Jenelle (CJ) Messerly, Gerri (Brandon) Cochran, Ang (Bronc) Speak Thunder & Michael Stiffarm. Great-Grandchildren: Alden, Shaunte, Jermaine, Anthony, Wiley, Ethan, Jeremiah, Kyleigh, Shadyn, Shaylee, Carter, Brandon, Cordell, Caiya & Cactus. Sisters: Shirley (Jim) Bell, Glenda Messerly, Roberta Messerly-Johnson. Brothers: Dean (Ramona) Messerly, Doug Messerly, Gordon (Susan) Messerly, David Messerly & Leon Messerly. Extended families include Messerlys, TalksDifferents, Kirkaldies, Webbs, Healys, Bishops and numerous others.
