We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the Chinook Senior Center

August is behind us now and so we look forward to the colors of autumn and the rich smells and sights of the trees turning beautiful golds and reds. We are never certain what Mother Nature has in store for us, but we know (since we are Montanans) that we can handle it.

Dr. Benjamin Farr came last Wed., Aug. 28th to speak with people who might know someone who needs joint replacements, or who might need the specialized medical services that he provides. We did have the respect of several community members who joined us for this valued presentation.

We also celebrated Myrla McCoy last Monday, August 26th for her dedication to our Center, by doing all of our laundry and taking care of our plants, for many years. We have many community members who continue to help us out, despite their age or possible physical challenges and we all need to applaud what they do for us and remind them how valued they are, in our community. When you see Myrla out and about, please let her know that she is treasured.

On Wed., Sept 11th, we will be having a practice round of Hand & Foot card game. If you would like to join us in this fun, please CALL us @ 357-2648! Several people are enjoying the Diamond Art classes and are creating very beautiful items.

We will once again, have a Paint on Canvas class on Wed., Sept. 18th @ 1:30. If you would like to join this class, PLEASE CALL US AHEAD, so that we have enough canvas and items ready for you. We don’t wish to miss anyone.

Saturday, September 21st will be an Indian Taco Day, from 11:00-2:00, for a Free Will Donation to our Center. This meal will be prepared by Doug Mitchell, Teddy Powell and Mary Novak. We are also fortunate to have Gene Allen playing music for this fun-filled day!

We continue to look forward to many varied activities here and wish that you would join us! We have Cornhole, Pinochle, Cribbage, Bingo, Diamond Dotz, Music and will begin our STEPPING ON Classes on Tues., Sept. 17th from 10:30-11:30. These classes are presented by the Blaine County Health Department and will continue for several weeks.

We have Cold Ice Tea, Hot Coffee, Cookies, friendship, fellowship and a heart for our community!

WE ARE STILL SEEKING AN ASSITANT COOK AS WELL AS VOLUNTEERS, so if you would like to get out in your community and make a difference, PLEASE call us @ 357-2648!
