Chinook Blood Drive - September 17, 2024

Chinook Blood Drive

According to the American Red Cross nearly 20,000 people receive assistance from the Red Cross every day. “We don’t know who will need our help today, or where we will need to go tomorrow. Your gift to “Where It’s Needed Most” gives us the flexibility to respond whenever and wherever we’re needed.”

Blood donation is critical for traumas or emergancies, but it is also needed to support patients undergoing gene therapy. Septmember is Sickle Cell Awareness month and the Red Cross is asking for your help. As many as 50 units of blood and up to 25 units of platelest may be needed for a single patient undergoing gene therapy for Sickle Cell Disease.

The Chinook community will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday September 17th from 12 noon to 6 PM at the Blaine County Commercial Building (300 Cleveland Rd). The Red Cross highly recommends appointments, however walk in donors are welcome.

We urge you to roll up your sleeve and come make a live saving donation, today. During the month of Semptember the Red Cross is also giving “Double the Reward”. September 1-30, 2024: Come give blood with ImpactLife for your choice of an e-gift card, donation to Make-A-Wish® chapters in our service region (Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin) OR bonus points.

The need for blood is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. You will feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life. Schedule an appointment today, and thank you for your live saving donation!
