The Sugarbeeters took on the Glassgow Scotties Thursday night. In a five set thriller it was the Scotties who took home the victory. The Beeters lost Set one in a close 21-25 battle over the Scotties. They were able to bounce back and took Set two 25-20. Set three belonged to the Scotties as they took the win, 16-25. The Beeters weren't ready call it a night and came out with a dominating 25-9 victory in Set four. Set five (first to 15 points, win by two) was a tough back and forth battle going point for point. The Scotties would claim the victory, 17-19.
Leading the team in Kills on the night was senior Hannah Schoen with ten of the teams 35. Senior Sami Malsam served up 6 of the teams 12 Aces. Malsam also led the team in digs, scooping up 32 of the teams 113 on the night. Senior Ashlyn Jensen led the team in blocks with seven (two solo/five assists) of the teams eight. Senior setter, Addison Olsen led the team in assists, setting her hitters up with 16 assists of the teams 29.
The Beeters were home on Saturday for the 41st Annual Chinook Tournament. Facing teams like Malta, Glasgow, Shelby, Conrad, Cut Bank, Chinook JV, and Roy Winifred, It was the Sugarbeeters who came out on top earning a first place finish in the Tournament.
The Beeters will on the road this Friday as they travel to Shelby to take on the Coyotes. They will return home on Saturday as they take on the Cut Bank Wolves.
