Sioux Honey - Member of the Year Award 2024

The Purpose of the member of the year award is to recognize an active member who has accomplished something outstanding for our Association or industry during the past year.

Rob Buhmann of Buhmann Apiaries presented Wade Anderson, Bear’s Paw Apiaries, Inc., Chinook, MT with the Sioux Honey Member of the year 2024 award for being in business for 60 years. Buhmann Apiaries also received an award for being in business for 50 years.

Born into beekeeping, Wade has embraced the ever-changing world of apiaries. At two years old, his family purchased the apiary business he now owns. Wade has taken the business to a new level while working alongside his dad, Doyle, and brother-in-law Ole Brown. He attended North Montana University to study diesel mechanics. Wade has always been devoted to the craft of beekeeping.

In 1990, Wade married the love of his life, Carla Anderson. Together, they have two sons, Winston and Cord Anderson. The following year, Bear Paw Apiaries, Inc. was officially incorporated, symbolizing the collective commitment of Wade’s parents, sister, brother-in-law, and Carla to the business. The couple hopes to pass the family business to their children someday.
