Elaine Louise Allen

Elaine Louise Allen passed away peacefully September 15, 2024 at her home in Havre, MT.

Elaine, born June 26, 1962 in Havre, MT, was the youngest child of Eugene and Nancy Sudan. She attended Hogeland and Turner Schools, where she was better known as Haney, graduating in 1980 from Turner High.

After graduation she worked on farms around Turner and Hogeland as a laborer, something she greatly enjoyed. Elaine built lifelong friendships during these years. She grew close with Jim and Diane Jenks, who became a second family to her.

During a trip to Williston, ND, Elaine met Rodney Allen. After a courting for a couple of years they married on November 24, 1989. They made their home in Whitefish, MT where Elaine worked for Idaho Timber. Around 1997 they moved to Havre, when Rodney started working for the railroad. Elaine took a job at Northern Montana College working for several years as a custodian.

Elaine enjoyed camping and fishing with Rodney at some of their favorite spots including Fresno, Tiber and Fort Peck. Although they had no children of their own, they loved taking their nephews, nieces, and great niece along. She is remembered fondly of teasing all of them.

A loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Elaine will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Nancy, grandparents, Dale and Lola Richey and Tony and Ruby Sudan.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Allen; sister Joyce (Scott) Van Voast; brother Gary (Deb) Sudan; nieces and nephews, Amber Sudan, Darcy (Ken) May, Matthew (Valen) Sudan, Michael (Carmen) Van Voast, Ashley (Andy) Geis, Clinton (Chateau) Van Voast, and many great nieces and nephews.
