We've Got The County Covered
Youngsters in Blaine County will have an opportunity to share their talents by designing a wildlife T-shirt for a contest sponsored by the Wildlife Museum. The winners will have a T-shirt created from the design that they come up with and displayed and made available for sale in the museum gift shop.
Dawn Colby, director of the Blaine County Wildlife Museum came up with the idea for the contest. "I brought it to the board, and they gave me the ok to go ahead with the contest," said Colby. She's hoping to get the museum more involved with the community, and possibly bring in more funding so the museum can open more often. "We need more visual connections to show the value of the Wildlife Museum," said Colby.
The contest is broken into two categories, K-6, and 7-12th grade. Your creation can be hand drawn or computer generated. All designs need to be on a standard letter size sheet of paper (8 ½ x 11) It must include at least one wild animal, and say the Blaine County Wildlife Museum. Include your name, age, and phone number on the back of the design. Entries are due by November 10, and can be mailed to, Blaine County Wildlife Museum, Box 304, Chinook, MT 59523.
Entries will be narrowed down by the board of directors, and placed on display at the Museum Banquet to be held November 16. There the winners will be chosen by people's choice of those who attend the dinner. Dinner includes a prime rib dinner, salad and desert.
