Beeters come out on top during Senior Night

The 'Beeters hosted the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks on Senior Night. The Blackhawks stand at a season of 5-0. The 'Beeters hoping to change that to serve them their first loss.

The first quarter started in what seemed to be a back and forth with the ball. As the 'Beeters seemed to continually push back their opposition, the Blackhawks held strong. Powell, Standiford, and Bell did their best to keep the ball moving and keep their team moving on the green. Both teams were not letting another progress. The 'Beeters were close to a solidified touchdown, with Jaha and Powell taking down anything that stood in their way. Bell was determined to secure the ball in the endzone. With flags flying and time ticking down, both teams ended quarter one with a score of 0-0.

Second quarter began with a pass being interrupted by Nissen. A great start for the 'Beeters to get ahead. Bell persevered tackle after tackle. After a fumble, the 'Beeters recovered the ball once again. Murnion and Bell met each other on the field, with Bell carrying the ball. With 4 minutes left, Nissen completed the pass to Standiford to gain their first touchdown. With their 6 points on the board, the 'Beeters successfully led a 2-point conversion with Nissen. With 8-0, and under four minutes left, Metcalf made a strong return pushing the Blackhawks back with Alisch leading the tackle. At a minute and 29 seconds, the ball returned to the 'Beeters, Standiford carrying the ball. Bell was tackled and slightly injured, which in turn created a spectacle on the field with both teams taking off their helmets and kneeling out of respect. Quarter 2 ended with McKenzie carrying the ball, and an interception by the Blackhawks at the 3-yard line. 8-0

Half-time was a time to honor the Senior 'Beeters. With Elliot #10, Metcalf #14, Nissen #27, Jaha #90, Standiford #34, Sullivan #35, Beck #28. The boys were grateful for their families and shared their advice to younger players. The common theme being respect, giving it your all, and trusting their coaches.

Quarter three was underway with the Blackhawks picking up the ball. Metcalf and Nissen weren't having it as they led the tackles. A personal foul backed up the 'Beeters, losing some yards on the field. With the ball going over and down, it came back into 'Beeters' possession. With 8 minutes left, Nissen had a successful reception and forged the second touchdown. With the scoreboard at 14-0, the 'Beeters had an incomplete conversion. As time continued to tick down and the ball changing from team to team, Jaha and Sullivan did their best to carry the ball. The third quarter ended with flags flying and a score of 14-0.

The last and final quarter, started unfavorably for the 'Beeters with a fumble bringing the ball into Blackhawks' possession. As the crowd picked up electricity, the Blackhawks made their first touchdown of the game with an interrupted point conversion by Nissen leaving the scoreboard with 14-6. The Blackhawks led an interception at the 1-yard line. The 'Beeters were backed up against Blackhawk endzone, but successfully pushed back the Blackhawks. Metcalf and Davies broke a pass helping to bring the ball back to the 'Beeters. With 27 seconds left in the game, McKenzie guaranteed the final touchdown. This exciting game ended with an unsuccessful 1-point conversion, but an everlasting win for the 'Beeters with a score of 20-14.

The 'Beeters' final home game will be Wednesday, October 16, at 6 PM.
