We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the

Chinook Senior Center

We have had a very full week, with the sad passing of Dale Hofeldt, whom everyone knew and loved. So sad to say goodbye to this friend. Keep the family in your prayers, as they have had way too much loss.

We had a wonderful day, with many fine ladies in our community helping to make pies for our very successful Pie Social last Saturday. It was well attended and everyone had a great time. Marilyne Berger donated Ice Cream for this, however, I forgot to take it out. Some days get very busy. I will need to thank her again, and also let her know that we will all be delighted to have Ice Cream sundaes one day soon. Sorry, Marilyne. We had 38 pies here and they were enjoyed by many, many community people who not only love pie, but apparently they love the Center, as well. Thank you to all of these fine people for their continued support. You are appreciated far more than you can imagine.

We had Triangle Telephone here on Monday, sharing information with people regarding possible savings for their monthly bills. They surprised our Center with a wonderful donation of $1000.00! What a blessing that was! Rich Stuker was likely instrumental in this sharing with our senior community. Thank you, Rich!

Today, we had 1st Bank of Montana, here to share very valuable information regarding staying safe from fraudulent activities, with the political scams, the internet scams and the grandparent scams, there is a very large group of evil people out in our world who would like nothing better than to take absolutely everything that you have worked your entire lives for. WE MUST beware! We must NOT engage them in any conversation, whatsoever! The team from 1st Bank made it so much fun, with a game that they called Scam Jeopardy! We had several people in attendance who knew the correct answers and were awarded with a token for knowing how to handle some of these situations. Cheryl Kanishiro is quite an asset to the 1st Bank team! She also brought some goodies to share, as well as gifts for each participant. It was very well done! Thanks to Melissa, Heather and of course, Cheryl! You girls are great!

Once again, we have invited all of the community kiddos to Trick or Treat from 3:30-5:00 on Halloween. We also have a special menu for lunch that day.

We have also received word that we will be helping to celebrate Stan Wall’s 88th birthday on Sat., Nov. 9th, from 2:00-6:00, which will also bring in many Pickers, from the formerly known as Poet & Pickers group. Stan has been a very long time picker, so he will be delighted to be here and pick for us.

Our second in the Speaker Series, (which we partner with Sam French, Blaine County Museum Director) on, Michah Chang, will be here on Wed., Nov. 13th @ 5:30 to give a presentation on Agriculture in WWl & WWll
