We've Got The County Covered
The Harlem Wildcats are a finalist out of ten schools in a $50,000 grant presented by the SoFi Game Changers Challenge! This grant can help revolutionize and propel the athletic program for the Harlem School District.
Currently, the Montana Public School District #12 has outdated lighting systems and a deteriorating track. The lighting had been installed in the 1970s. This long period has unfortunately led to not only dimming the light of the field but also dimming the future of student athletes. The Wildcats' cinder track has remained unsafe and unused for track meets since the 1980s.
New lighting providing 50-foot candles versus the current 2.8-4.3-foot candles would not only allow for clear visibility, but also optimize practice, safety, and hosting games. Renovations to the lights and track would transform the scope of what the athletic program can do! With an updated lighting system and track, this opportunity doesn't only benefit the Harlem School District, but the student athletes, fans, and community! Extended practice hours and having the ability to host night games would truly be an inspiring sight to see for the Wildcats! To quote the school, "This isn't just about sports; it's about creating opportunities for our students and strengthening our small-town community."
