We've Got The County Covered
Our sweet beloved Blair passed away unexpectedly on October 23rd, 2024. Blair was born on September 23rd 1988 to parents Sandra and Val Widmer. She was raised with siblings Vern, Kerry, Cory, Eddy, Megan, and RJ whom she loved very much.
Blair was a wild child growing up, she was mischievous and very good at climbing the counters to get to the sugar mom hid in the cabinet. Blair grew up with her siblings in a small area east of Chinook, Montana. Sandra certainly had her hands full with this bunch of vibrant kids but always did her best keeping them in line and best she could while still loving them all unconditionally.
The kids had a lot of fun pushing each other around and had many adventures. One story Kerry and Vern shared was where the kids were playing on the haybales out back. Blair was being a stinker so her brother Vern grabbed her by her feet and told her she "was going to get dunked in the slew pond" (he was kidding of course) ... however, there was a little bit of ice on the pond and his foot broke through and Blair went up to her eyebrows in the pond. Of course, she ran to mom to tell on the kids...and just like every other day, they all got in trouble. Another story shared by her sister Cory was about all the other siblings sleeping under the stars and telling ghost stories in the back of the truck.
In her youth, days were filled with the gang pushing each other around in a wagon at grandpa's house and making mud pies in the orchard. Blair was a very cunning and sneaky child and she showed that one day when RJ and Eddy found a skunk in the wood pile. They asked Blair what to do and she told them they needed to poke it. Well Eddy got sprayed (but not RJ, because he was smarter than that) and Eddy had to sit on top of the chicken coop by himself because no one could stand the smell of him.
After some time, Blairs mother Sandra met and married Russel Sorensen. Blair grew up with her mother, step father Russel, brother RJ and little sister Megan on a farm south of chinook where she would call home until she grew up. She loved to torment RJ and Megan and gave Sandra and Russel almost all of the grey hair they own. One memory she shared with brother RJ, Megan, and cousin Annie was when the crew went out camping. Blair had a book she told Megan not to touch or she said a monster would come for her in the night. Meanwhile RJ and Blair set up this contraption in the tent with some fishing line attached to the zipper of the tent. That night the worst storm came through and that's when they pulled the ultimate prank on little Annie and Meggie. Through screams of terror, they manipulated the zipper on the tent pretending to be attacked by the monster. That scared those two little girls so bad that Annie didn't go camping for years after that.
Blair loved going over to her aunt Vicki's house and spending time with her cousins Annie, Kylee and Gracie. Blair would take the kids on all kinds of adventures. She cherished the time she spent with everyone in her life and always had the biggest smile on her face.
When her son Hero was born, she made it a point to teach him about hunting, fishing and exploration. She was always with him on the weekends in the mountains or at the best fishing hole. Everything she did was with him and they were inseparable. Hero took after her in such ways as being mischievous, cunning and also very funny. It was never a dull moment when you were around those two... they played pranks on each other every chance they could get. She raised him to be the loving caring young man he is today and he will carry her legacy for his entire life.
Blair was surrounded by caring and loving people throughout her life including the Cottons, the Burgmans, and many, many more.
Blair met her best friend and soul mate Scot about five years ago through their good mutual friend Wayne Hildebrant. The three of them remained the best of friends until her passing. Blair and Scot loved one another so, so much. They were just recently married in Alaska – a special place and memory they both cherished. They shared many adventures and never grew tired of being just together with one another. Scot and Blair started their day with laughter, love, and kisses and in turn finished each day that way. She will be deeply missed by her husband Scot, her family, and all those that where lucky enough to know her.
You will remain in our hearts forever Blair – we love you.
