We've Got The County Covered
Yolonda Lee (Russell) Johnson, known as Yoyo, was the 3rd of seven children born to Wallace and Bonnie Russell. Ready to take a bite out of life Yoyo was born with two front teeth in Sidney, Mt on February 10, 1952. Her love for animals, pranks, art, music, fun and laughter all molded her character and life.
Yoyo attended school in Harlem, MT, was active in 4-H; Order of Rainbow for Girls; softball league and VFW Axillary. Later in life she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harlem where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, served on administrative boards, led Bible studies and Sunday services. Her faith became a stronghold in her total being, especially as she battled cancer.
In 1972, she assumed her role as wife when she married Kermit Johnson of Harlem and later her most cherished roles as mother, grandmother, and aunt. While farming for several years east of Harlem, Yoyo began working at The Western Shop, Heart of the West, The Bank of Harlem and Fort Belknap Kwik Stop where her employers, co-workers and customers learned of her zest for life. She will be remembered and missed by many.
Yoyo was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Gregory. She is survived by her husband Kermit Johnson, children Russell (Kerry) Johnson, Tesla (Brad) Kantorowicz, Andrew (Jamie) Johnson, and Leesha (Chet) Wolery.
