We've Got The County Covered
The October meeting of Big Flat 4-H was held on October 20th at 2:00 at the Turner Christian Church. Before the meeting started the Big Flat ambulance crew presented to our club. Divided us into three groups to do our presentation so we could see everything. Members present were Modesty Chamberlain, Mason Friedrich, Natalie Richman, Jessa Schroder, Mary Simons, Hannah and Isabella Van Voast. Visitors present were Eli Jones, Kane Jones, and Huston Van Voast. Leaders present were Hilary Richman and Shannon Van Voast. American pledge was led by Hannah Van Voast and 4-H pledge was led by Mason Friedrich. The September minutes were approved as read.
Reports:
Treasures report is $1,046.78.
Hannah Van Voast gave a report on the bowling party.
Everyone at the meeting reported on what they liked most at the fair.
Natalie Richman gave a report on the 4-H week window display.
Hannah and Isabella gave a report on the 4-H year calendar committee.
Old business:
We discussed the Christmas Stroll located in Turner November 30th until 11-4:00. We decided to do cinnamon rolls, bake sale, soup, and the photo booth. Tacy and Emily will help design the photo booth backdrop.
New business:
Elections were held.

Our club is assigned winter project day to organize. We will find a day sometime between January and March.
The enrollment fee and registration is due by November 15th.
Tween group will meet October 27th.
We finished our end of the year paper work to send to the office.
At the end of the meeting we signed cards for local veterans for Veterans Day.
Our next meeting is November 17 at 2:00.
The November meeting for Big Flat 4-H was held on November 17, 2024 at the Turner Christian Church at 2:45. Before the meeting we met at the Fox family’s garage to fix the town Christmas lights. Roll call was to describe one thing you are thankful for. Members present: Modesty Chamberlain, Avery & Piper Fox, Mason Friedrich, Hannah & Isaac Klindworth, Natalie Richman, Jessa Schroder, Mary Simons, and Hannah & Isabella Van Voast. Leaders present were Hilary Richman, and Shannon & Alan Van Voast. Guests at the meeting were Brandy Calvert, Duane Klindworth, Mary Jane Waldahl, Billie Jo Simons, and Brian Fox.
The American pledge was led by Avery Fox and the 4-H pledge was led by Piper Fox. Treasurer’s report was $982.88.
Old business:
The date for winter project day is February 9, 2025. Hilary is going to try to find space in Harlem for us to host the day. If we are not able to find space in Harlem we will host the day in Turner. We talked about workshop ideas and came up with a few, cake decorating, leather, robotics, and crocheting and knitting. The Christmas stroll is in Turner November 30. We will meet at the Christian Church that morning to prepare cinnamon rolls. A work schedule was made and people decided what they were bringing to the bake sale. Modesty reminded us that we were supposed to get signed up in ZSuite by November 15.
New business:
Achievement Night is November 24 and we are to donate 1 door prize. The club asked Hilary if she would prepare a door prize and she agreed to do it for us. There is a rate of gain workshop tomorrow in Havre for people that want to learn about feeding their steers. There was a tween group meeting in Chinook today. Steer tagging is on January 3, 2025 at Bear Paw Livestock.
Hannah did a demonstration on “Plant Propagation” and Isabella did a demonstration on “Edible Cookie Dough.” After the meeting Brandy talked to the club about her time in the National Guards. She has been in for 4 years and was just promoted to Sergeant. We had a potluck after we were done. Our next meeting is the swimming party on December 15 at Sleeping Buffalo..
