We've Got The County Covered
Hello From the
Chinook Senior Center
We trust that you all had a season of THANKFULNESS with your families and friends. We are all blessed to live in a small community that embraces one another. We have a group of giving people who come together to make a COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER, for those who truly cannot come in, so they deliver to them. Of course, it is always nicer to have everyone gather as a family of community members at the Thanksgiving table, so next year, if you are able, please consider joining them all at the Commercial Building at the Fairgrounds. Also, take an extra moment to thank these kind hearted people who put this together for you.
Our Annual LIVE AUCTION, set for Saturday, Dec. 7th from 2:00-4:00 (conducted by Kevin Elias) is fast approaching! It will once again, be held at the Eagles Club. There are some wonderful items for your bidding pleasure! We have Lemon Meringue Pie by Judy Johnson & Cherry Pie by Val Frank, just to name a couple. We have the most gorgeous Nativity Scene, all done in Diamond Dotz art that sparkles gloriously and would be a valued treasure to anyone lucky enough to have the highest bid! We have so many wonderful items. PLEASE COME and support our auction, with all proceeds to benefit our own Chinook Senior Center! We hope to see you all there!
Our next Paint on Canvas will be Wed., Dec., 4th @ 1:00 and is entitled “Bells Will be Ringing”. This looks like a really fun piece. We need to know if you will be joining us for this one, as we need to have all supplies ready! 357-2648, as we make no reservations via Facebook.
Our 2nd Annual Remembrance Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held here on Fri., Dec. 13th @ 2:00. We will once again be blessed with the talents of Sheri Miller on keyboard. We encourage all who have lost someone (not just within the past year, but ever) to come and join us for this poignant celebration of those who have gone on before us. We will have the tree lit, but we ask that you hang one of our many Cardinals in remembrance of those whom you carry in your hearts. We will have goodies and beverages.
Monday, Dec., 16th from 10:00-12:00 will be another event here at the Center, with Sheri Neuens and Kris Shaw performing something different in a beautiful style from 10:00-12:00. Mark you calendars for this one, as well. We are so very fortunate to have people who wish to come and bring so many delightful things to us. Be a part of these, please.
Birthday party for December will be held on Friday, Dec. 27th at lunch. We will feature a Ham Dinner with all of the trimmings. As always, we ask that you call us prior to 10:00 to let us know that you wish to join us. Our Birthday letters of invitation will be coming out soon.
We will host a New Year’s Eve Card Party from 1:00-4:00, December 31st. Please, call and let us know that you will be joining that as well.
As always, we enter this season of amazing grace with hearts of thankfulness. Our Center will be closed on Dec., 25th and Dec., 26th to allow our employees time with their families. We will be sending 2 meals out to the people who truly cannot come in on Dec., 24th.
LUNCH FOR THE WEEK:
Wed., Dec. 4th: Chicken, Rice, Broccoli Casserole
Thurs., Dec. 5th: Breakfast Casserole
Fri., Dec. 6th: Philly Steak Sandwich

Who has the Lord put in your path or on your heart this season? Bless others and be a blessing.
We have hot coffee, cold iced tea, cookies, a heart for our community and we wish you the very best in this season of giving. Sometimes, all you need to give is a smile.
