We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

It is hard to believe that we are already in the month of December and soon it will be Christmas! Elle has a nice variety of Christmas books on display just waiting to be taken home. New this week is “Christmas in Bethel” by Richard Paul Evans, a novel celebrating the life-changing power of the holiday spirit.

The library will be hosting a Christmas movie in coordination with the Chinook Senior Center on Tuesday December 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Refreshments will be served!

If you are not looking for a Christmas book, we have several other new books ready to go this week. It started with one little lie, but Jane Hardy will do everything in her power to uncover the truth in “One Little Lie” by Colleen Coble. “Tooth and Claw” by Craig Johnson is a Longmire novel. A seemingly perfect suburban housewife is being pursued by a private detective . . . and hunted by a murderer in “April Storm” by Leila Meacham. In the new Danielle Steel book “Trial by Fire,” the life of a Parisian woman changes in a heartbeat when she’s trapped by wildfires in Napa Valley. Supreme court candidates are being murdered. Alex Cross and John Sampson are handling the case in “The House of Cross” by James Patterson.

Teen Scene, for grades 7 through 12, is Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. There will be karaoke, Wii, board games and other activities. Story Time for preschool children is Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Kids’ Zone is on Tuesday for grades 3 through 6 from 3:45-4:45 p.m. There will be crafts, coloring and other activities available. Homeschool Hour is Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The purpose of this program is to provide a place where home school families gather and learn from each other. We have a sign-up sheet for families to host future programs. If we have a week with no host family, we won’t have a program that week. Thursdays is LEGO Club from 3:45-4:45. Fridays we show a family-friendly movie from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Children under five may attend LEGO Club and movies, but they must be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing everyone.
