We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the Chinook Senior Center

By the time you read this article, we will have conducted our 2nd annual live auction, to benefit our Chinook Senior Center. We are under contract for our funding to have several fundraisers per year, for compliance. This is why you see our Center put forth the energy & effort to have several fundraisers throughout the year.

We had a wonderful time looking around at all of the vendors that were out on Friday, and seeing the parade! There were some pretty sweet floats! While, personally, I hate to see Christmas (anything) land on the same weekend as Thanksgiving, I guess that is the way of the world, so….I went out to join in the festivities. Normally, I prefer to stay home the day after Thanksgiving and actually rest and enjoy the leftovers…..but, alas!

We trust that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, as we did. We had just enough leftovers to get through the weekend, without cooking again! Yay!

Here we are almost in the season of the greatest gift, ever! Christmas is coming upon us and let us remember those in the greatest need. Remember, that on Friday, December 13th @ 2:00, we will once again, hold a Remembrance Tree Lighting Ceremony, complete with beautiful piano music by Sheri Miller. This is a poignant time of reflection, where we all place a Red Cardinal upon our fresh Christmas tree, in remembrance of those who have gone before us. We do have all of the ornaments, which we use each year, so, we will encourage you to hang one of these. While our hearts grow very tender at the holidays, most especially, following the death of those whom we have loved and lost, we also find it helpful to spend time with others who have suffered in the same way. Missing never stops. Love doesn’t die. Memories remain forever.

I am nearly done decorating this wonderful building and getting ready for the season of JOY. Please, stop in, have a cup of coffee and join in the fellowship found within these walls.
