William Francis Doney

William Francis Doney "Toga Winca" "Gros-Ventre Man",70, was born on November 9, 1955 and passed away with his family by his side, Wednesday morning, December 26, 2024.

He grew up in Hays, MT and he worked on various ranches in the Bear Paws. He then met Cheryl Kendall in 1987 and they resided in Landusky where he worked for Charlie Swenke for 12 years and retired due to health problems. He was also a seasonal firefighter. He then moved to Lodge Pole with Cheryl and they raised their grandchildren together. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his great grandchildren and grandchildren. He enjoyed riding horses and cowboying. He loved to be outdoors. He loved watching his old westerns and reading Western Horseman which he read over and over.

William is survived by his wife Cheryl Kendall; stepchildren; daughters Tonie Cliff, Crystal Cliff, Meea Healy, Shawn R. Doney, Adrianne Moore, Jaret J. Blackcrow; sisters in law Audrey (Francis) AimsBack, Terryl& (Gene) Matte; sisters Bonnie, Anna (Bill) Main, Micky Jo (Michael) Gray; brothers Bobbi Doney; grandchildren Cameron Blackcrow, Onna-Faye Blackcrow, Hope Blackcrow, Brianna Quintina-Ann Blackcrow, Bridgette (Beau) Blackwolf, Colten Shambo, Kimber Shambo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William is preceded in death by parents Nelly and Virgil Doney; brothers Dale Doney, Marvin Doney, Donald Doney, Dennis Doney; stepson Lonnie W. Cliff; nephews Buddy Doney, Lenny Gray, lance Gray; uncles Ben Carry Water Sr., George Doney, Aunt Shirly White; extended families include the Carry Waters, Doneys, and the Shambos.
