It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne H Maxwell announces his passing on February 1, 2025 at the Sweet Nursing Home in Chinook, MT.
He was born on April 5, 1935 on the ranch near Warrick, MT to Moffet Dice and Lola May Maxwell. He grew up helping on the family ranch near Warrick. As he got older he also helped out with branding calves at various neighbors and friends. He attended area dances and the annual Warrick 4th of July Rodeo. It was at these dances where he met Beverly Smith whom he married on February 10, 1957.
Wayne served in the Montana National Guard from approximately October 1959 to August 1, 1965 where he received an Honorable Discharge.
He lived with his family along the Montana Hi-Line from Gildford to Malta working as a ranchhand. He also worked for the dairy in Havre as a mechanic and drove a truck for the Unified Landfill from which he retired after 15 or so years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, grandson James, his brothers Glenn, Robert, and Ray and his Sister Edna. Being the youngest sibling, he was able to achieve the goal of being the oldest at 89 years, 9 months and 28 days.
He is survived by his four children, Bob (Hillary) of Landusky, MT, Debbie (Grady) Trogstad of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Gene (Jill) of North Augusta, SC and Arliss Hipple of Great Falls, MT. Wayne also leaves behind a granddaughter, Jolene (Ethan) Herby of Spokane, WA and grandsons Tanner Trogstad of Boise, ID, and Jacob & Mathew Hipple of Great Falls, MT as well as nieces and nephews from Havre and areas out of state.
Wayne requested no services be held in his honor.
